News from Cyprus

The Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation has selected Evridíki to represent them in Helsinki. This is about the best choice they could make as she's a fekkin' amazing singer. She's one of Cyprus' top stars and was voted (unofficially) by London Greek Radio as the person they'd most like to represent Cyprus in 2007. She's had a massive career over the last 10 years and obviously Cyprus is hoping she'll qualify them to Saturday's final after last year's disaster.
She's already represented Cyprus twice at Eurovision. Once in 1992, then again in 1994. She came 11th both times, which is a bit unfair as she gave arguably one of the best performances of both evenings.
Watch some of her vids, plus her two previous forays into Euroland below.
Her latest release (bit of a serious ballad) - Zoí Na Mpo
A euro-dance-leather-romp-with-semi-naked-men - Óla Diká Sou
Some high Greek drama - Póso Lígo Me Xéreis
Possibly the most sultry performance in Eurovision - Tairiázoume (Malmö 1992)
How she only came 11th with this I'll never know - Eímai Ánthropos Ki Egó (Dublin 1994)
